In 2020, in the heat of the pandemic, we had an opportunity to bring new printing equipment to the factory – and it had the potential to revolutionize our product offering. After a few months of learning about the new M&R Polaris digital printer, we knew we had to find a way. Four years later, the process has evolved, we have learned a lot, and most importantly, been able to offer our customers full color designs that we never imagined we’d have the capability to do.
So, what is digital printing? Why all the hype, you ask? Digital printing offers a lot of upside and everyone from the art team to the customer reaps the benefits.
Set Up Time is More Efficient: Since the machine is all digital, setting up a digital design cuts the time from a screen print setup tenfold. That means our team can turn more orders faster, ultimately getting the goods in the customers’ hands sooner. 
Digital Friendly Garments: Garments that handle digital can vary, from 100% cotton to blends. Our team has been working with many different garment profiles over the last several years to maximize what we can offer to our customers.
Lower Minimums: Because digital printing increases our efficiency, we can pass that benefit on to the customer by offering lower minimums.
Reorders Are a Snap: We can turn reorders faster than a typical screen print so even if a customer is squeezing in one more order before the end of the season, we can turn it in a snap.
Intricate Designs: At Wild West Shirt Company, we’re known for our detailed, intricate artwork. With digital printing, we have the ability to print the most detailed designs directly on the shirt without layers and layers of ink – that can detract from the graphic nature of the artwork.
